CBD is rapidly becoming one of the most popular alternative treatments in the world. Everyone from MMA fighters to menstruating women have found that it is a fantastic way to increase their wellbeing in a healthy, natural way. However, the research into CBD is still in its infancy and there is a lot that isn’t known about it and the people who take it.

The Brightfield Group and HelloMD have stepped up to fill this void in research. They have pioneered the largest survey on CBD to date, surveying over 2,400 people in total.

Female Users

The survey found that 55% of all CBD users were women, which contradicts prior assumptions that the majority of cannabis medicine users are male. Men, generally, preferred THC-high cannabis medicines. The survey found that women are more likely than men to use CBD medication and they are also more likely to stop using traditional medicines after trying cannabidiol.

Conditions Treated With CBD

The survey also found that the most common conditions participants used CBD to treat. These included depression, joint pain, and anxiety. This is down the CBD’s ability to reduce inflammation, combat pain, and promote well being; all without any mind-altering effects.

CBD Users Abandon Traditional Medications

42% of all CBD users surveyed stopped using traditional prescription drugs and other medications. Citing that they found CBD extremely effective in the treatment of their conditions. Only 3% of users found the products ineffectual.

What Does This Mean For You?

The vast majority of those polled reported that they found CBD products incredibly effective in the treatment of their conditions. It’s important to remember that these are anecdotal reports, not a reliable medical study. We encourage you to use CBD as a great treatment for your conditions and as a way to promote general well being. We do not recommend that you abandon any medical treatments prescribed to you without first consulting your doctor.

CBD has a lot of promise, but it isn’t a mainstream medication just yet. Don’t gamble with your health, always talk to your doctor. CBD can promote wellbeing in your life and health, but proceed with caution until its beneficial properties are confirmed.

Again, CBD may be the future of wellness, but if we really care about making a real difference to our lives and the medical status quo we need to proceed with caution. This is about being healthy and living well, not scoring points over the medical establishment.
